Dear All, Our neighbours, Old Wesley, were unable to do us any favours last weekend when losing their previously deferred Ulster Bank League match against Ballymena. Consequently, our 1st XV dropped to 5th place in the League making our away fixture against Clonakilty next Saturday an even more crucial one where a win is a necessity. Although we are still in the hunt for automatic promotion – the game between Malone and Belfast Harlequins is also extremely critical – we could find ourselves involved in a play-off against Bruff to decide the relegation/promotion issues between Division 1 B and Division 2. The undernoted table shows the current positions in Division 2 and you will see that there are other possible permutations which could exclude Bective. Therefore, your physical presence in Clonakilty would be of enormous help to the team as it strives to achieve success for the Club. ULSTER BANK LEAGUE Division 2

Dear All, The pressure on the Senior team in the Ulster Bank League continues unabated following the various results of last weekend. Unfortunately, defeat by 17 – 23 was our lot against the high flyers of Ballynahinch in a strongly contested game which could have been even closer (or, in fact, a reverse result) if some decisions had gone in our favour. You will see from the undernoted table that there are still various combinations which could ensue when the last series of matches takes place on Saturday, 16 April. As you are aware, the top 4 teams will be automatically promoted to the re-arranged Division 1 B for next season with the possibility of the 5th place team also being promoted depending upon a play-off against Bruff to decide the composition of the different Sections.
