First of all, we would like to congratulate our own Sean Barrett on becoming Ceann Comhairle of the 31st Dail. Well done Sean from all in Bective Rangers Football Club. It is great to be back again and our next match is the Kieran Murphy Trophy under lights at 8pm in Donnybrook on Wednesday 16th March. This should be a very exciting game as Greystones only needs a point to secure promotion to 2nd Division next season and, as you all know, Bective are on the verge of promotion to the 1st Division. The relationship between Bective & Greystones goes back over a number of years and it would be great if we could meet up again on this special night. As you know we are having an early bird meal at 6.30pm at a cost of €15 per head. The match and match ball will be sponsored by Steve McGettigan and Tony & Dave Walsh. At present the meal will be held in the Moon Room but if the bookings increase, we shall move it to the hall. We would appreciate your support either for the meal and match or just the match. Bookings for meal can be made through the office – 2838254. Everyone who attends the meal will get ‘free Shamrock’ to wear on St. Patrick’s Day! |

Trinity vs. Bective
February 28th 2011 Match report thanks to Conor Donnelly Bective enjoyed a 21-11 win over Trinity on the back pitch of Donnybrook last Monday night. Both sides traded a pair of early penalty kicks to leave the score at six a piece ten minutes into the half. On fifteen minutes more ill discipline by the visitors resulted in a scrum for Bective just inside the Trinity twenty-two. The Bective pack, which has been strength of the team on every level all season, once again displayed its power by driving back Trinity. After drawing Trinity defenders in with multiple pick and go’s Bective went wide and were reward for that decsion when a lovely turn of pace by left winger Shane Williams saw Rangers run in for the first try of the contest and a 13-6 lead. |

A 20th year reunion is taking place for the winning Fox Cup team of 1991 on Saturday March 26th. The day will start with a get-together at the Bective vs. Corinthians pre-match lunch. Look forward to seeing you all then
