J1 vs Clontarf Match Report PDF Print E-mail
Bective Rangers 2nd suffered a 25-18 defeat at the hands of Clontarf in a post Halloween Thriller at a Chilly Donnybrook Stadium Monday Night.

Carrying the momentum from the 1st teams hard fought 11-10 victory away at Thomond Park at the weekend; Bective looked to turn Donnybrook into a house of Horrors for the visitors. From the resulting lineout Bective drove their way over the line to score an unconverted try and race out to 8-0 lead after 10 minutes.

The 1st's are still very much in the hunt for league and promotion honours so let's continue to rally behind the team and try and support them at as many matches as possible in what should be a club defining season for Bective.

It has become a tradition in Bective each season that at one of the AIL pre-match lunches the ladies are made particularly welcome; there is no doubt 2009/10 was bigger and better than its predecessors. This was mainly due to the generous sponsorship of the event by Amlac Limited, through Club Member Derek Joyce.

The selected date was 6th March when Bective hosted Clonakilty. The 50 women present had a most enjoyable afternoon meeting old friends and making new ones and were warmly welcomed by everyone else at the lunch – both Bective and Clonakilty. They all received a generous “Goodie Bag”, each of which contained skin care products (kindly donated by the Annex Clinic and Day Spa in Blessington), a small bottle of wine, magazines and other gifts.
