The Bective Under 16’s started off the season as they had finished the 15’s season. In a league of high quality teams, Bective started off with an impressive win against Clontarf on the front pitch. The 16’s ran in 10 tries, including three each for Andy Coffey and Ronan Carney and nine conversions from the boot of Conor Browne. Bective continued with two further wins against tougher oppositions beating Railway Union in Donnybrook and with a great away win against Greystones. With great ruck and maul work and immense tackling from both forwards and backs, the 16’s played true 15 man rugby to go top of the table at the end of November. Excellent performances from forwards Neil O’Connell, Dean McKeon, Michael Crowley, Daniel Kelly, Rory McAvinue and backs Sam Sheridan, Daniel Collins, Jack Gallagher and Daniel Nolan, Bective had scored 18 tries, 108 points and had conceded only 24 points. |
