Leinster Vets (Over 35’s) League in aid of Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin 1. All matches to be played within the week stipulated by the Fixtures Schedule. For example, Round 1 fixtures are to be played in the week: Mon 2 Nov to Sun 8 Nov, 2009 inclusive. It is up to both clubs to agree a date and time within that week to play the fixture. It is the Home team’s responsibility to get a ref appointed for the fixture. Please contact Denis Collins of the Association of Referees, Leinster Branch at 01 2693224 or 087 2617788. 2. All players MUST be fully paid-up PLAYER members of their clubs and hence insured to play. 3. A collection to be made after each league match, for The Children’s Medical and Research Foundation, Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, Dublin 12. From my experience, a collection bucket left at the bar after the match is the best option, and ask players and supporters to make a contribution if they so wish. The proceeds can be lodged to the following account: A/C Name: Children’s Medical & Research Foundation (CMRF) A/C Address: CMRF, Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, Dublin 12 A/C Number: 11501369 A/C Sort Code: 93-10-47 (AIB, Grafton Street) Please quote: Vets Rugby on “Narrative” section of lodgment slip, when lodging the funds. 4. All players must be 35 or over before 1st. January, 2010. Clubs fielding under-age players will be disqualified from the competition. 5. All scrums will be NON-contested.
6. No fixtures to clash with Senior Leinster HOME fixtures, so that Leinster fans can attend or watch the games on television. 7. Games consists of two 30 minute halves. 8. Kicking and drop-goals are allowed. In addition, penalty kicks at goal are now allowed, as well as conversions. 9. League matches can be played only if a minimum of 15 players are present on each team. For instance, if a team arrives to play with only 13 players, the team able to field 15 players is awarded a walkover. The match may be played as a friendly however. 10. Points awarded as follows: Win – 4 points; Draw – 2 points; Losing by a margin of more than 7 points – Nil points Bonus points awarded as follows: 1 Bonus point awarded for four or more tries scored by your team 1 Bonus point awarded if losing by a margin of seven points or less. 11. Walkovers In the event of a walkover being awarded to a team, the team receiving the walkover will be awarded 4 points for the win. Bonus points are not awarded in a walkover situation, as they should be earned on the field of play, in my opinion. If a team withdraws from the league mid-season, then all points awarded to opposing teams in previous games against the withdrawing team shall be deducted from the points total of the opposing teams. 12. Substitutes A total of 15 players and seven subs can be used during a league match. Subs can roll-on, roll-off during matches, with a limit of 12 substitutions. The referee should be notified by the team captain when substitutions are being made. 13. Completion of pool games On completion of the pool games, the top two teams shall play the League Final. Should two teams be level on Total points at the end of the pool games, then the team with the greater points difference shall finish above the other team. Should the teams have equal points difference, then the winner of the game played between the teams shall finish above the loser on the league table. Finally, if the teams drew their match, a toss of a coin will decide who finishes higher up the table. |
