Rangers,

Well done to all who helped the Mangy Rangers to a famous IRFU VETS TAG LEAGUE title, led by Gary (Hans) Purcell.

The squad system was used to great effect throughout the tag season. The core of the team consisted of mainly backs from the Vets section including Gary (The Speed) Corcoran, Eoin (The Great) Gallagher, Colin (Munster legend) Rafferty, Brendan (The Stallion) Dawson, Odhran (Nardo) Power, Maeliosa (Wewa) Power, Piaras (Guby) Power, Emmett (The Rebel) Sheridan, Lorcan (Franz) Fulham, Darren (The Dangerman) Delaney and Nick (the Quick) Barniville.

The league Final place was earned by an impressive Semi-final win against the Icarus All Sorts. The Final against the Wombles was a topsy-turvy affair with both teams finishing level 5-5 at half-time. The second half started badly for the Rangers with the Wombles taking a 7-5 lead. The Rangers did not panic however and both General Gary Purcell and Darren's deadly distribution opened up the opposition. Several scores followed with Nick (the Quick) Barniville scoring the pick of the crop with a cheeky follow-up to a kick-off! Despite a brief comeback by Wombles, Rangers held on for a convincing 12-8 victory! Special mention to King Kevin Kenny for a super defensive display in the Final.

Also special mention to other Rangers who made valuable cameos for the 'Mangy' Rangers throughout the season, such as Johnny (The Quiet Man) Sheehan, Joe (Silken Thomas) Osborne, Alan (The Galloping) Gilmer, Philip (Daisy) O'Donnell, Dave (The Brave) Walsh, Greg (The Alickadoo) Allen and Brian (The Lion) Kavanagh.

Also, many thanks for the support of our new President Fergus (No Fuss) Flanagan, who has promised to fill the cup for us soon!

MINGLE IN DINGLE

All is set for our tour to Dingle on Saturday 27 September.
Numbers confirmed are strong so far, so check in with the Boss/Wife for day off!

Leave Dublin 9am Sat. morning.
Meet for brunch @ Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare at 11am.
Leave for Dingle at 12.30pm.
Arrive 3pm Dingle.
Book into Benners Hotel, Dingle. Cost Eur82 each for B&B.
Match 4.30pm Corcha Dhuibhne RFC vs Bective Rangers F.C. Presidential XV!
6pm Pints and food at Tigh PJ's, Ballydavid! Then onward to Dingle for pints and craic!
