BECTIVE MOURNS THE LOSS OF ELVA MURPHY (nee Walsh)

Club members were very saddened to hear of the passing of Elva on 26 April.  She has been associated with the club for more than forty years, first introduced by her husband Kieran who played at senior and junior level and subsequently took on the challenging role of Honorary Treasurer at which he excelled until his untimely death at a young age. Elva was his constant companion as both enjoyed the camaraderie and unity of the Rangers and added greatly to the club in general.  The devastating loss of her husband was a severe blow to Elva, but she displayed great courage and resilience and never lost contact with her friends in Bective, all of whom admired her for her kindness, friendliness, humour and generosity. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her in Bective Rangers.
