Mini’s & Youths
Results:
U17 HOME Lansdowne - The U17 played their last game of the season on Friday at home under lights. Unfortunately, this time out they were beaten by a very strong Lansdowne side. Having said that, out of 4 matches played they have won 2, drawn 1 and lost one, not bad for a side that only came together a month ago. Marcus Kennedy has done a superb job keeping this group connected to the club and we are looking forward to seeing this team flourish next season.
U12 AWAY Skerries - The U12 group were on the road out to Skerries on Sunday. Once again they played some super rugby winning the majority of their matches. No doubt, Paul Hatton will have this group in great shape for next season when they move to 15 aside.
U13 AWAY (Tour to Biarritz). The U13 group were away in Spain and France last weekend. While the sun shone in Ireland they endured heavy rain across the weekend. Having said that, the rugby and craic was brilliant. On Friday they played Spanish side Hernani and unfortunately lost. Hernani are a small community club and they showed the travelling party unbelievable hospitality. On Saturday they played French side Tyrosse and after a tough 1st half they were trailing 35 - 19. As the sun came out for a short period the Bective U13 side showed their true fighting spirit and turned the deficit around to win 45 - 40. There were tries from Matthew Keane, Oscar Maybury, Caolan Lennon and Harry Whelan in the 2nd half and Henry Pickard had another superb kicking display. All in all it was a super touring weekend for the U13 squad.

CHUCK BYRNE HOSTING NIGEL OWENS
From the rain in Kilbogget Park or the wind of the Wicklow mountains to standing on an old shipping container against the Cooley mountains, all the way to living and breathing the highs and the stress of Bective commentary. Our very own Chuck Byrne has come a long way and now for one night only Chuck takes a break from embracing the Irish weather conditions and swaps his Bective commentary and fireside chats for an evening with the legendary rugby referee Nigel Owens.
On Friday the 27th of June in the Talbot Hotel Stillorgan, join Chuck hosting Nigel Owens as he shares insights, stories, and behind-the-scenes moments from his illustrious career. This exclusive event will feature an in-depth interview with Nigel, followed by a raffle and an interactive Q&A session, where you’ll have the chance to ask him your burning questions.
Secure your tickets now and be part of an evening filled with laughter, insight, and plenty of classic Nigel Owens and Chuck Byrne wit!

BECTIVE MEN’S SHED
The ‘Bective Men’s Shed’ is for those retired members who can give an hour or two on a Thursday to devote to maintenance and development of our premises and for a meet up for tea/coffee. We are keen to develop the rear of the pavilion so that it can be used during the summer months for outside eating/drinking and the group are currently working on this project. The Men’s Shed meets on Thursdays at 12 noon in the clubhouse.
